🌈 Bruges Pride — Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June
Three days of queer joy, music, parade and community in the heart of Bruges. The programme starts tonight with the Pride Opening Night — queer comedy by Laurien Vereecken at the Pride Café (Korf, Naaldenstraat 4, 19:30) and a Queer Cinema screening of La misteriosa mirada del flamenco at Lumière (Sint-Jakobsstraat 36, 19:45, free with a Pride wristband). The headline event is the Pride Parade on Saturday 13 June: gather from 14:30 at 't Zand (Noordzandstraat side), parade sets off at 15:00 and arrives at the Burg at 17:00. The route is around 2.5km, using public roads through the historic centre. It passes through Noordzandstraat, Geldmuntstraat, the Markt, Steenstraat, the Dijver, Wollestraat, Breidelstraat and finishes on the Burg — a route through the absolute heart of the city. Everyone is welcome to join the parade. Free.

After the parade, the Pride Festival continues at the Burg from 17:00 to 22:00 on Saturday: DJs, performances and a Pride Village with bar, food truck and stalls under the Belfry. 🎻 Brussels Philharmonic — Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition Closing Concert, Saturday 13 June, 20:00, Concertgebouw ('t Zand 34)
The most prestigious classical music competition in Belgium reaches its Bruges finale tonight. The top three laureates of the 2026 Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition — including winner Ettore Pagano — perform at the Concertgebouw Brugge with the Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Samy Rachid. This is the closing concert of the entire competition's national tour, and last tickets are available. An extraordinary evening of cello playing at the very highest level. The W.E.R.F. Records Invites concert series continues at KAAP's intimate De Werf venue — one of the finest small concert spaces in Bruges, and the spiritual home of Belgian jazz. Doors at 19:15. BRUSK: Bigger Picture + Refik Anadol: Latent City — Ongoing until 6 September, Dijver 12. A month into its run, BRUSK is wonderful in June — the Dijver is at its most beautiful, and the two opening exhibitions are settling into a confident stride. Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–18:00. 🔜 Coming Thursday 20 June — Triatlon Brugge: Spectators Welcome!
Already worth marking in your diary: on Saturday 20 June, Bruges hosts the 22nd edition of the Triatlon door Brugge — a quarter triathlon set against one of the most spectacular backdrops imaginable: the historic city centre. The start is at 17:15 at the Sasplein, with 1,000m swimming in the Langerei, 45km cycling, and the finish from 19:00 at the Kruisvest. The Belgian Pro League season is over for both Club Brugge and Cercle Brugge. No home matches this week — but with the city buzzing with Pride and the Triatlon on the horizon, there is no shortage of spectator sport and outdoor activity.

🚴 With temperatures building towards 28°C by Tuesday, this is a glorious week for cycling. The Damse Vaart to Damme, the canal route to Ostend, or simply exploring the city's many quiet cycling streets — hire bikes near the station and enjoy the long June evenings.

A week that gets better and better as it goes on. Friday has a light drizzle with a high of 18°C — don't let it put you off the Pride opening events, which are mostly indoors this evening. Saturday 13 June turns sunny at 19°C, ideal for the Pride Parade. Sunday 14 June is sunnier still at 21°C. Monday 15 June remains sunny at 21°C, and Tuesday 16 June is the pick of the week — full sunshine and a high of 28°C. Summer is properly arriving.
