🗓️ Weekly Markets: The Saturday market (23 May) is back on 't Zand in its normal location now the Meifoor has closed — the square returned to the city at last. The Wednesday market (27 May) takes place as usual on the Markt and surrounding squares from morning. With temperatures touching 29°C on Saturday, the market should be at its most glorious — stock up on strawberries and find a terrace.

🎸 Bob Dylan's 85th — Tribute by The Tambourine Men, Sunday 24 May Sunday 24 May is Bob Dylan's 85th birthday, and Bruges' own collective of diehard Dylan devotees, The Tambourine Men, are marking it in style. This passionate group of local musicians and scholars have staged tributes for Dylan's 70th, 75th and 80th — a quietly wonderful Bruges tradition. Free to attend. Night of the Organs — Ignace Michiels, Saturday 23 May, 13:45, Sint-Salvatorskathedraal (Steenstraat) Part of the international Night of the Organs series — this year involving musicians in more than 20 countries simultaneously — Bruges' own cathedral organist Ignace Michiels performs a programme of Liszt and his contemporaries on the recently restored Klais organ of Sint-Salvatorskathedraal, one of the finest instruments in Belgium. Summer has arrived early, and it couldn't be better timed. It's 25°C and gloriously sunny in Bruges right now, and the rest of the week looks more of the same. Saturday reaches 29°C with just a 10% chance of a passing shower — perfect for the Mirage Festival terrace, the cathedral organ concert and the Saturday market back on 't Zand. Sunday is another stunner at around 27°C — ideal for the title party at Jan Breydel, the Dylan tribute and a long, lazy evening on a canal-side terrace. The warmth continues into next week, with Monday and Tuesday both touching 28–30°C under clear skies. Suncream, sunglasses and a cold Brugse Zot firmly recommended.
