BRUSK FEST — The New Art Gallery Opens 🆕 This is the biggest cultural event to hit Bruges in years. After its pre-opening teaser last September drew over 30,000 visitors, BRUSK — the stunning new art gallery at Dijver 12 — officially opens on Friday 8 May with a three-day free festival that transforms the Museum Quarter into a city-wide party.

BRUSK: Bigger Picture + Refik Anadol: Latent City — From Friday 8 May, Dijver 12. The double opening exhibition at Bruges' new art gallery is a genuine must-see. Bigger Picture — developed with Oxford's Prof. Peter Frankopan and featuring loans from the National Gallery, London and the Vatican — reimagines Bruges' medieval identity as a cosmopolitan hub. In the same building, Refik Anadol's immersive AI installation, powered by data from Bruges itself, challenges the senses in what is a Belgian first. Running until 6 September. AiR Biekorf 10.0: Tin — Ongoing until Sunday 7 June, Expositieruimte Poortersloge, Kraanrei 19. The results of the Biekorf artists-in-residence programme, with new work by Joke Raes and collaborating artists. A quietly compelling show in one of Bruges' most atmospheric gallery spaces. Club Brugge vs Sint-Truiden — Saturday 9 May, 20:45, Jan Breydel. The Championship Play-Off continues for Blauw-Zwart, who are in contention for the league title. Floodlit football in a packed Jan Breydel is an experience not to be missed for any football fan visiting the city. Book tickets at clubbrugge.be. 🏃 EnergyVision Dwars door Brugge — Sunday 10 May. The 45th edition of Bruges' beloved city run sees up to 8,500 runners take on 5km and 15km routes through the historic centre, along the Vesten and across 't Zand and the Markt. There's also a Persil Kids Run (1km, ages 4–12) starting at 09:45. The 5km starts at 10:15 from Minnewater; the 15km at 11:00 from Spoorwegstraat. Entry is still possible on the day. BRUSK FEST — Bibi Seck, AliA, Sanne De Muynck and more — Friday 8 May, Museumkwartier (Dijver area). The opening evening of the BRUSK FEST festival brings a full outdoor concert programme to the city's newest cultural hotspot — entirely free, no ticket required. BRUSK FEST — Acid Arab, Lander & Adriaan, James Holden & Waclaw Zimpel, Susobrino — Saturday 9 May, Museumkwartier. The Saturday night programme steps up a gear: Acid Arab's genre-defying mix of electronic and Arabic influences, alongside the hypnotic collaboration of James Holden & Waclaw Zimpel. Svalbard + Rulder <Bruges is Doomed> — Sunday 10 May, Cactus Café (Bargeweg 10). A mixed but pleasant week ahead. Friday and Saturday look the best of it, with temperatures nudging 17–18°C, partial cloud and only a small chance of a passing shower — good news for BRUSK FEST. Sunday is cooler at around 16–17°C with a light breeze from the south, but should stay largely dry for the Dwars door Brugge race. Early next week sees temperatures dip slightly to 13–15°C with some cloud and the possibility of light rain on Tuesday. The evenings remain mild enough for a terrace with a jacket.
