Dub Revolution Open Air: Forward Fever with Kologne meets Roots Explosion.

“Roots Explosion" is a soundsystem from Bruges, Belgium that was founded in 2016. The crew consists of five core members and a range of regular MC’s with a common love for reggae music and soundsystem culture. Their main goal is to promote said culture and organize affordable and accessible dances for music lovers young and old. Roots Explosion is playing all kinds of Jamaican music, dubplates and homemade productions, with the emphasis on playing their hand built soundsystem like their predecessors used to do in the golden days of reggae music, when rub-a-dub riddims reigned the dance hall.

Roots Explosion has played at festivals like Couleur Café, Reggae Geel, Reggaebus Festival, Campo Solar, Humble Festival, Space Safari and Ardennes Soundsystem Weekender. The sound also played at international events in Hong Kong and The Netherlands. The Roots Explosion record label was founded in 2023, kicking off with a polyvinyl dubplate release (Wise Men & Roots Explosion – ‘Sanctuary’), followed by the first 7” (Emma – ‘Free’) in 2025.

Forward Fever was founded in the late 90’s Their first single, 'Rasta We Rasta' with Danny Red and Idren Natural became an anthem in the sound system world. Since then, Forward Fever has released plenty of tracks on labels such as Woodland, Indica Dubs, AbabaJahnoy, Woodland Records, Vibes Generator, Reservoir Dub and their own Forward Fever Recordings label.

Kologne (aka Singing Cologne) grew up in the countryside of Linstead, Jamaica and started singing at a young age. His talent was quickly noticed and he started performing at all kinds of events. In the late 80s, Kologne met producer Fatis 'Xterminator' Burrell. He introduced him to another big name in the reggae world, Sizzla. Sizzla took Kologne on a European tour, which led to a successful solo career. He recently released music on the Black Redemption, Iroko and Steppas Records labels and worked with greats such as Max Romeo, Linval Thompson, Rupert McKenzie, Roots Radics, Turbulence and Sidney Mills.” FREE. 28 Jun from 17:00.
