🍺 Coming up — Brugs Bierfestival, Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 September, BMCC (Beursplein). A fortnight away and firmly one for the diary: the 18th edition of Bruges' international beer festival, with around 60 breweries pouring some 400 beers, live music both days and free entry, celebrating ten years of Belgian beer culture as UNESCO heritage. brugsbierfestival.be

🗓️ Weekly Markets: The Saturday market (29 August) runs on 't Zand, roughly 8:00–13:00. The Wednesday market (2 September) is on the Markt and surrounding squares in the morning. Both in their usual spots — and gorgeous in the softer late-summer light.

Transitional Dance — Michiel Vandevelde (KAAP), Monday 31 August, 20:30, Burg. Free. A beautiful way to mark the turn of the month: KAAP's monthly danced ritual returns to the Burg, its start time tracking the earlier sunset. ⚽ No home fixtures at Jan Breydel this week — champions Club Brugge are away at KAA Gent on Sunday 30 August (13:30) in the Slag om Vlaanderen, the first "Super Sunday" of the new campaign. A fresh, breezy end to August — classic late-summer weather with sunshine and showers taking turns, and pleasant dry windows to enjoy. Expect highs of around 20–23°C through the week, with a mix of bright spells and the odd passing shower, and a lively breeze off the North Sea. Thursday and Friday are the most changeable, so keep a light layer handy; the weekend brightens up nicely for the last rooftop dinners and a stroll along the canals. Nights are cooling gently to 12–15°C — proper sleeping weather again. Sunset is now around 20:40, with the evenings drawing in but still golden. All in all, a lovely week to be out and about.
