🎬 🎭 Stage, Screen, and Scene

Cirque Plus — 24–26 July, Grootseminarie garden. See Top Pick. Note the evening programme, with the terrace as its heart, runs late — a genuinely lovely way to spend a summer evening.

The 2026 programme leans into contemporary circus at its most inventive: the vulnerable humour of Kintsugi by Cie Krak, the acrobatic nerve of Mr. Patate by Cie BaNCALE, and the honest, intimate treatment of chronic pain in Pijnmoe by Cie 2dehans. Clara Köpf's High (on) Fashion and workshops with Studio Stik pick up this year's sustainability thread — a response to fast fashion, built on reuse and creativity. Gates open 13:00, performances from 14:00, running to 23:00 with an evening terrace programme. Entrance via Peterseliestraat. Most shows free; paid and reservation-only shows via cirqueplus.be or In&Uit ('t Zand 34). UiTPAS holders get 80% off paid shows. cirqueplus.be

Transitional Dance — Monday 27 July, 21:36, Burg. Free. Choreographer Michiel Vandevelde has created a new monthly danced ritual specifically for Bruges, marking the turn from one month to the next. Next editions: Monday 31 August, and a free dance workshop at KAAP De Groenplaats on Monday 24 August. kaap.be

(Atelier Matinée at the Concertgebouw is on its summer break and returns in the autumn.)

🌤️🌧️ Weather

A mixed but improving week. Friday is mostly cloudy with light rain, around 22°C, with a 53% chance of showers — worth a light waterproof for the Cirque Plus opening. Saturday brightens to broken cloud, 21°C, dry, with seven hours of sunshine. Sunday is the weakest day, cloudier with a high chance of showers around 23°C — the Grootseminarie garden has plenty of covered spaces, so the festival carries on regardless. From Monday things settle: dry, around 22°C, then warming steadily to 27°C on Tuesday and 28°C on Wednesday under mostly clear skies. Nights are mild at 15–18°C. Sunset is at 21:45, so evenings stay long and light — and Monday's Transitional Dance on the Burg is timed to it. Latest forecast: meteo.be
