Musical fireworks against Amyloidosis - Echo for hope. AmyBel, the Belgian patient association for amyloidosis, warmly invites you to a special benefit concert dedicated to hope, support and community. They write: ‘Amyloidosis is a rare disease in which misfolded proteins accumulate in organs, disrupting their function. Because diagnosis often comes late and the consequences can be severe, AmyBel works to improve awareness, treatment, and especially support for patients and their loved ones. We are honored to welcome the world-renowned Philharmonisches Streichquintett Berlin for this evening – a rare opportunity to experience this celebrated ensemble in an intimate and historic setting. Cinema. Cinema Lumière (Sint-Jakobsstraat 36) will be showing a variety of films over the next week. These include Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, One Battle after Another, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, The North, and The Roses. Ticket prices are up to €12, with a family film option before 16:30 costing €9. Next week there will be a family film showing everyday during the Autumn school holidays. ⚽ Game On: Sports & Recreation

Football fans visiting Bruges can watch the city’s two world famous clubs, Brugge KSV (“Club Brugge”) and Cercle Brugge KSV (“Cercle Brugge”) play during the season at the city’s Jan Breydel stadium (Koning Leopold III-laan 50). Cercle will play Zulte Waregem in the Jupiler Pro League, 26 Oct, 16:00. Club Brugge will meet Eendracht Aalst, 29 Oct, 20:30 in the Beker van België.

Mimi's Shebeen - Alesandra Seutin / Vocab Dance & KVS. A moving ode to Miriam Makeba full of song, dance and music - about exile and resilience, migration and hope. Inspired by the life and work of South African singer, activist and exile Miriam Makeba, KVS-maker Alesandra Seutin created a powerful performance about migration, exile and human rights. Through text, song, dance and music - and with a starring role for jazz singer Tutu Puoane - she takes you to the hidden corners of a deconstructed shebeen, an illegal bar or meeting place in South Africa during the apartheid era.

Where do you get the strength to hold your head high when you are exiled from your motherland, separated from your mother, people and roots?
